Good to meet you as well! Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving. Mavi Lounge is actually located in Fairfield, NJ- it's right off of Route 46, next to La Quinta Inn and Suites. GREAT food :)

Hi Debz, thanks for the welcome!
I found this site though Chowhound - because I'm always looking for good casual local places to eat or for places to get good local produce and specialty foods. Any suggestions?
Hi Deb, Thanks for the welcome! Yes, I did find your little group from the Jersey Bites site. I'm online friends with several of your members. You Jersey folks rock the foodie world.
Deb
I have been to the Ship Wreck many times over the years. Many years ago it was a pretty rough bar! Lots of old stories about what happened in there. In fact the guy that wrote the book about finding a German U Boat off the coast of New Jersey hung out there. I have not been to the Labrador Lounge but have heard many good things about it. I have biked past it but never got back in the evening.
Hi Deb
You can get to Tardi's in Point Pleasant easily. It is on Broadway, near the railroad crossing. It is just east of Spike's fish store if you know where that is. I saw your site and it looked very interesting. I am originally from North Jersey, near Newark but have owned in Bay Head for 25 years now. I spent all my summers in Point Pleasant. There are more and more great places to eat down there and I would value your comments. I recently retired from 34 years with IBM and plan on spending the summer at Bay Head. Hope to hear from you again

Hi Deb, I have a brother in Red Bank. He grew up in Toms River, but his wife was from Long Branch. She is an administrator at that community college there, I think it's called Brookdale. Her maiden name was Linda DiBartolis. She has a connection to the E-Street band because her best friend's husband went to college with Clarence Clemmons. They always got backstage passes and heads up when the band is played locally.
Thanks for the warm welcome, Deb. I see you live in Point Pleasant, a place I am very familiar with (Jenkinson's Ken's Landing). My three brothers live at the shore, in Red Bank, Toms River, and Forked River, respectively. I only get back there every 3-4 years. I'm an active member of a website called aboutnewjersey.com started by a guy named Robert Rosetta who lives in Toms River. I'll try to contribute when I can, but not being physically present in New Jersey does limit my knowledge of what's going on in the restaurant scene.
I love Harrigan's cocktail sauce! There have been many times my mouth was on fire from it ever since I was alittle and stole my dad's Old Fashioned to put the fire out!! HAHA! I found Jerseybiters by looking around on fellow bloggers pages :-D
Aww...i'm sorry to hear that. I will tell them about the giveaway. Bakspace is a social network for people who like to cook and bake. I mention it a lot in my blog. Check it out and tell me what you think. www.bakespace.com
It looks like it's midnight here in short hills. What a gloomy day. I hope this weekend isn't so rainy.
There's a group of us NJ foodies on bakespace. I don't know if that's competition or not and I've been there for a while now so I can't get into any trouble with the moderator/owner/my friend. lol If you guys aren't competition I'll spread the word. If you are, I'm sure you'll understand then that I can't. You have a great thing going here! Kudos to you!

Lisa and I are going to try and write the Extreme BBQ post together. It's an experiment. If it totally blows, one of us will just write it up.
