Long time, no speak here

Yeah, well, it's been quite the year: new baby, losing a job, etc etc.

Blog-wise, we have our first contest going (woohoo), we started a fan page on facebook with weekly discussions, and we have a few more exciting things happening later this month.

Haven't updated this in a while

Hello all. Been a bit busy - we have a brand new baby daughter, yknow!

Do we have things planned for the new year? Sure do!

Will we be able to do all the things we have planned? Dunno.

One thing that we will certainly be doing is going to The Tortilla Press sometime this weekend for my b-day. Yes!

Fun in AC this past weekend

Back to the work week after Labor Day, but Lisa and I had a nice weekend down in Atlantic City. We were celebrating our anniversary and Lisa's b-day. Got to spend an afternoon lounging at The Pool at Harrah's (verrrry nice!). Of course, we also had a couple of very enjoyable meals. We had a wonderful dinner at Sea Salt down in Stone Harbor, and followed that up with lunch the next day at The White House. It's always good to get to White House for an awesome sub. Lots of writing to come

After a fun Saturday in Vineland, we have plenty o' things to write about for the next week of so. Lisa's back into the swing of things and will be posting a bunch, I'm sure. I do have to mention Sweet Life Bakery, which is just off Landis Ave in Vineland. Wonderful stuff. Husband and wife CIA grads (Culinary Institute, not that other CIA) who are doing happy things with pastry. - John

Busy weekend...again!

John here.

We're off to see my folks in Willingboro tomorrow and will be participating in a Japanese tea ceremony being done by my sister. Then it's off to Vineland on Sunday for, hopefully, some interesting food-related stuff. Lisa had a good experience at Gyro Hut on Rt 37 in Toms River, which she will be sharing about very soon.

Lisa and I are food enthusiasts and enjoy all types of cuisine, from low brow to high brow. We currently live in Forked River down in beautiful southern Ocean County. We have both lived in Jersey for pretty much all of our lives, and have lived all over the state (Willingboro, Tuckerton, Toms River, New Brunswick, Hoboken, Edgewater, Little Falls, Wanaque). We have one beautiful son (Julian, 5) and another bundle of joy on the way.

I competed the last two years, but not this year. I'm planning on going to the festivities on Sat afternoon / evening. The blues are great, the vendors are selling everyday. The judging starts at noon on Sunday, but unless you have someone to route for, that's not that important. Perhaps we'll see ya there! Ben
