Renee,

Welcome...God, I love Mud City. Did I tell you just last week I was shopping in Manahawkin and just had to stop in and grab an order of their baked garlic clams for a little "snack"? The car smelled like garlic for days, but, ah!... the privileges of preganancy.

Loves to whine and dine!

Seriously, my husband Ken was "in the business" after earning a scholarship to France back in the 80's. Came back to the States to work at Brooklyn's The River Cafe and Larry Forgione's An American Place, among others. His career brought him to Rumson, NJ, where we met, during the first wave of Nouvelle American Cuisine. The food scene in NJ has been slammin' ever since!
He decided to get out of "the business" as it was not conducive to family life (those restaurant hours are grueling, but how we adore the men and women who commit). We've been married now for over 20 years - and needless to say, we are excellent tippers!
Favorite Restaurant in New Jersey?
The question is flawed!
For a true food enthusiast there can be no one favorite restaurant because every dining experience is bound up in occasion and mood. When it comes to dining in New Jersey, one of my favorite meals has to be the sushi prepared with a South American flair served at the Bistro in Red Bank. I start off with the Crackling Calamari salad served with their crusty and rustic brick oven baked bread, and a lemon water. They have no liquor license, but are able to exclusively feature wines from New Jersey wineries. Not sure how that works, but if you'd like to explore NJ wines, visit the Bistro.
