Meghan's Friends

Hi all, not really a member intro, but I did not know where to put this. This is kind of a personal post. I have been a pastor for about 25 years. My first church was in Kearny, NJ. My wife and I came to be friends with the family that lived in the apartment across the street from us. We had toddlers the same age. We have kept in touch on and off with this family over the years. Just this month we learned the sad news that Meghan, the oldest daughter in this family has a serious brain disease. She has no medical insurance,however she has had the wonderful blessing of having the best neuro surgeon in New Jersey operate on her and of being admitted to Kessler rehab. Several of us have started a non-profit foundation for Meghan called "Friends of Meghan". I have created a blog to keep people posted called Meghan's Friends. We will be doing a beefsteak dinner as a benefit for Meghan on August 21st at the Nutley Park and Rec building. The cost is $40.00. For those of not from Bergen or Passaic County, a beefsteak dinner is where you are served unlimited sliced roasted beef tenderloin, dipped in butter and served on french bread,with french fries and beer. (As one person put it, all the basic food groups). If anyone is interested in getting tickets you can get them from [e-mail]. Bob is a senior v.p. at Morgan Stanley and has worked tirelessly to get this foundation off the ground.
