Facebook 101
For those of you who are on Facebook, send me your link. For those of you who have not ventured onto FB yet but want to give it a go, leave a message here and I'll email you an invitation. I'd be happy to give you some basic guidance (I'm no guru yet.) but there are so many contacts to be made. It's a great place to promote your blog and get noticed. As is Twitter, but that's another story. I'll teach you about that too if you're interested. Just leave me a message here or email me.

Hi Debz.
I just joined Facebook a few weeks ago and am trying to figure out how best to use it. I am curious how it is useful for promoting blogs?

Every time you do a blog post, use your status report to alert all of your friends that you have a new blog post up. You can also create a page dedicated to your blog and send out friend requests. Also, upload your blog posts via RSS feed onto your profile page. Go to the applications section and install a news reader. Search groups that have the same interests as your blog and join them. It all takes time and you have to be patient. I still don't know half the stuff you can do with it and actually I'm more of fan of Twitter now than Facebook.
